BFF II - Round 1 Challenges

Sunday 12 July & Monday 13 July

Bit of a rocky start, as expected, but we're on our way. The challenge order for Round 1, based on First Strike results, is as follows;

PGK
TOG Mexicans
Clan [X]
OSOK
SLAK
TOG Vikings
[u]
TOG Guns of Naverone

PGK must make the first challenge within 48 hours of the post time of this thread whereafter TOG Mexicans make their challenge.
The next two teams on the challenge order list can make their challenges in turn. Should a clan in the top four be challenged prior
to making their own challenge, next in line takes over the process until all challenges are in. Please remember, you cannot challenge
a clan you have defeated in the preceding round.
We're looking to all challenges being in and locked by the Thursday preceding the next round so prompt attention to this will be appreciated.

Once challenged, a clan must accept the challenge within 24 hours by notifying acceptance in the relevant thread for that round.

For uniformity, please keep the same format for challenges and acceptances, as shown below;

SLAK challenge OSOK for the territory Tiger OK1

OSOK accepts SLAK challenge for territory Tiger OK1

Clans 1 & 2 on the challenge order list have first call on match night selection and once challenged, a clan should make every
effort to fit in with the night selected, however a bit of courtesy goes a long way. Try to assist your victims where possible.

The key to a successful competition is punctuality...making challenges, acceptances, being ready at match time and getting screenshots in.
Every clan needs to do their bit to ensure this occurs.

:)
Edit: Please nominate your preferred night

hmmm,

Looks like we have to wait for others to issue (PGK , TOG Mex and Clan X) before we get a shout. Which means we effectively wont need to pick a team just Territory. Top 3 choose three challengers so (makes 6 of a possible 8 spoken for) in reality we get whats left. I think thats right, right? Will ask in Slak.
_________

Here is my post from our forums. Does that sit correctly. Hence we would only need to pick which territory to challege the remainder for. I'm not saying its right or wrong, just making sure that is the way the challenges will be issued so we are on top of our game and participate/challenge when required... (assuming of course none of the teams above us challenge within the top 3.)
Can't wait!

Challenge process moves from the top down with each clan's position decided by the highest Match Points from the preceding round. Although one clan may play outrageously 1337 in their match, another clan in a different match may still outscore them in actual match points, placing them higher on the next challenge list. The intention is to try to randomise the challenge process and not have the same strong clans hogging the challenge process. That's the therory anyway. It is also quite likely that clans at the top of a given challenge list will indeed challenge within the top 4 if a territory is more to their liking.

Damage, Do we have to wait until the previous teams on the list of only challenged the another team? Or until they've challenged AND been accepted?

So Challenge list's/ranking/order (as opposed to BFF ladder) will be posted at the top of next rounds thread? (so those of us completely bewildered don't have to do the math)

Seal and Salty....the reality is that the top 3 teams of any given challenge list will do the picking and the others will fall into line from there...

Chucky, here's the BFF II competition map showing all maps required. Most players will have all with the exception of dod_dorf which is available from SLAKfiles.

In its most basic form, the slide rule uses two logarithmic scales to allow rapid multiplication and division of numbers, common operations that can be time-consuming and error-prone when done on paper. More complex slide rules allow other calculations, such as square roots, exponentials, logarithms, trigonometric functions and BF2 rules.

Don't see what the issue is soldiers....you know...you form a queue...head of the queue goes first and remarkably, second in line goes second and so on. To make it really complicated, your position in
the the queue is determined by how well your team played last match. :)

saltyp wrote:So Challenge list's/ranking/order (as opposed to BFF ladder) will be posted at the top of next rounds thread? (so those of us completely bewildered don't have to do the math)

Matches are played, clans dutifully submit each rounds' screenshot, challenge positions are determined and posted in the next rounds' Challenge List, the Competition Map is updated territory wise, new challenges are issued and the comp moves onto the next round. Fail to see the need to be bewildered.
The use of Match Points to determine who challenges, as stated numerous times, is simply to allow a fairer challenge process whereby all clans get the opportunity at some time to challenge whilst still allowing some degree of competitiveness and strategy in which team you challenge. Alternatively, we could just have the same couple of teams challenging every round based on the winner challenges principle of most ladders.

Damage could you sticky a post at the top or sticky the map post and include the teams with the rep marked and all squad members.

Cmon crew declare and stuff. People put alot of work into organising this and trying to keep it running smooth. It doesn't matter really who you challenge lets just get the games going. You should have a plan in your mind of at least the next 3 strikes and which way your going. Makes it easier to declare the matches.
